April 2017 – Spring Brings New Beginnings
On April 24th construction began on our Outdoor Recreational Area and Playground. This achievement would not have been possible without the generous support of the Gordon and Ruth Gooder Charitable Foundation who kickstarted our fundraising with a $60,000 matching grant which we used to leverage with other donors and fundraising initiatives to raise the additional $60,000 required to meet the project goal.
The new outdoor recreational area will provide the 250+ homeless refugees that live in our shelter every year with a serene setting to recover from their emotional trauma and socialize with other refugees.
